Product Introduction:
Polyurethane products for LNG are primarily used as thermal insulation materials in liquefied natural gas storage tanks. These materials are formed through the reaction and foaming of isocyanates with polyols, creating polyurethane foam. External protective layer (optional): To protect the insulation layer from environmental damage, an outer protective layer such as fiberglass-reinforced plastic (FRP) or metal casing may be applied over the polyurethane insulation.
Performance and application:
1. Superior Thermal Insulation: Compared to conventional insulation materials, this technology significantly reduces heat transfer and effectively minimizes LNG evaporation. For example, under identical storage conditions, LNG tanks with polyurethane insulation demonstrate a 30%-50% reduction in evaporation rate compared to non-insulated counterparts. This critical performance advantage is vital for ensuring long-term storage and transportation of liquefied natural gas (LNG).
2. Good low temperature resistance: it can maintain good physical properties in the low temperature environment of LNG. It will not be cracked or deformed due to low temperature, ensuring the continuity of thermal insulation effect.
3. Appropriate mechanical properties: The polyurethane insulation layer has a certain elasticity and toughness, which can withstand a certain degree of pressure and deformation. In the manufacturing, transportation and use of LNG storage tanks, if vibration, slight collision and other situations occur, it can play a buffering and protective role to reduce the risk of tank damage.
